If ever there was a time when our society and our world could benefit from Grace, the time would be now. On any given day, it feels like our society is being torn apart by opposing sides and warring stories. Public vitriol, natural disasters, discrimination against all kinds of people, threats of wars, and far worse scroll across our TV screens and mobile devices on a regular basis.
We’re so used to these types of stories that we’ve become numb and disconnected from the people actually being affected. It’s not that we don’t care, it’s that we don’t know what to do.
This is where Grace comes in! We all need to be both recipients and conduits of Grace. Of course, there’s Grace that saves – the type of grace that allows you to have relationship with God through Jesus Christ. But there’s also grace that goes beyond that.
Grace is favor. Grace is kindness. Grace is mercy. Grace is forgiveness. Grace is generous. Grace is love. Grace is what we need. Grace is what we can give.
When we choose to embody the characteristics listed above with our neighbors, our classmates, our co-workers, our friends, and our enemies, we can start to make the type of impact that changes the world we live in. This isn’t easy, but it’s necessary. This is the world we live in, and if we have any desire for things to be different in the future it begins with what we do today.
We’re all in this together, and together we can be the type of people who choose Grace above all else!
