Batey Girls was founded by Batey Rehab Project, a nonprofit organization created to provide economic opportunities for women and girls at risk of sex trafficking and domestic violence in the Dominican Republic. Tired of witnessing parents sell their teenage daughters for sex, in order to feed their families, Batey Girls was created to provide an opportunity to begin new lives, break free from the cycle of poverty, and empower women to dream of a future that’s dignifying and honoring.
The Batey Girls jewelry brand is something you can be proud to wear, knowing you’re part of empowering women and girls with each purchase. The bracelets are handmade by female artisans ethically and sustainably, using Larimar stone (mined from an extinct volcano) and Açaí seeds. On top of empowering women, 100% of every jewelry sale goes directly toward the Batey Rehab Project.
